May 25 – ONE World Sports (ONS) has signed a three year extension to its coverage of Japanese, South Korean and Chinese football in the United States.

OWS will therefore continue to show exclusively the Japanese J-League, South Korea’s K-League and the Chinese Super League (CSL).

They will be screening three games from the J-League, two from the CSL and one from South Korea every weekend under the deal.

“We are so pleased with the extension of our J. League, K-League and CSL football rights,” said OWS senior vice-president of programming, Rick Jemison.

“We are committed to bringing Asia’s best soccer matches to its fans in North America.

“It is a tremendous vote of confidence for Asia’s preeminent soccer leagues to choose us to continue to deliver the live and exclusive coverage of their games.”

The announcement is a boost for the Asian game and ensures that it will continue to be seen by a wide audience in the US.

South Korea and China have both been hit by match fixing and corruption scandals recently, so it is a boost for their global profile after those problems.

OWS is a sports network specifically created to provide supporters with footage of sports, particularly from Asia.

The channel shows a range of sports from aquatics to badminton, and among its football coverage is the Asian Champions League.
