Seattle Sounders

September 13 – Seattle Sounders, who have reportedly sold 52,000 tickets for today’s MLS game against Real Salt Lake, have signed a new deal with Delta Airlines as well as extending their partnership with Xbox for another year.

The Sounders have been sponsored by Xbox since 2009 and their General Manager and part owner Adrian Hanauer said: “We’re very happy. It’s been a fantastic partnership. We’re excited to extend for a year and hopefully this leads to something even longer term.”

According to Hanauer, the club had wanted to “explore the marketplace, but at the same time we always wanted to be with Xbox and Microsoft.

“They’re the perfect partner. Ultimately we stayed in contact and ultimately it made sense for both parties, at least on a short-term basis and hopefully we can figure out something long term from here.”

Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines has become the official airline partner of the club, in a deal which includes NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. Club level seating at CenturyLink Field, the 67,000-capacity arena shared by the two teams, will be renamed the Delta Sky360 Club..

Delta has similar partnership deals other NFL clubs and is also the official airline partner of English Premiership club Chelsea.
