Public vote opens for second annual CONCACAF awards

December 15 – CONCACAF has announced the shortlists of contenders for its second annual awards recognising the achievements of the region’s men and women players, coaches and referees over the past year.

The awards cover achievements in CONCACAF-sanctioned tournaments and competitions involving national teams at all levels, including FIFA World Cups and World Cup qualifying for both genders, in all age categories. Performances in professional club football leagues in the CONCACAF region are also eligible.

The vote is split into three with fans, media, and national team coaches and captains. Each section counts as a third of the final vote. Fans can vote at CONCACAF.com.

There are 10 nominees in each category, chose by voting of Technical Directors from each of the 41 Member Associations and the CONCACAF Technical Study Group.

The categories are: Male Player of the Year, Female Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Referee of the Year, Goalkeeper of the Year and Goal of the Year.
