February 6 – The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has unveiled its new sponsorship deal with Bergenbier, the country’s leading beer brand, the FRF said in a statement.
“I’m very honoured that I can announce the return of a great friend to Romanian football,” said Razvan Burleanu, the president of the FRF. “I’m convinced that together we can achieve great things for Romanian football.”
Under the deal, Bergenbier’s logo will be located on the top part of the back of the shirt worn by the Romanian national team. The amount of the latest contract was not disclosed.
Lucian Ghinea, the chief executive of Bergenbier, said that the beer brand will support the national team’s efforts in the qualifiers for the UEFA Euro 2016 and the FIFA World Cup 2018.
“The details of the contract are confidential and we cannot disclose them, but all I can say is that the terms of this cooperation are beneficial for both sides,” Burleanu said.
The contract marks the second sponsorship deal between the FRF and the beer brand, which previously served as a sponsor of Romania’s national team seven years ago, according to the statement.
Bergenbier S.A. is part of the Molson Coors Central Europe group. The company’s brewery in Ploiesti produces more that 300 million litres of beer per year.
