February 19 – PSV Eindhoven has decided to swap Nike for Umbro as its kit supplier starting in the 2015/2016 Eredivisie season.

“PSV will wear the famous double diamond from the start of next season, starting a five-year partnership that will see Umbro supply technical kit and sportswear to all PSV teams,” the UK sports apparel company said.

“Teams don’t really come much bigger than PSV Eindhoven – as well as those 21 Eredivisie titles, the club has also won both the European Cup and UEFA Cup, and they’re one of only six European clubs to have won the treble.” Umbro also supplies Everton and Hull City in the English Premier League and Nantes and Lens in Ligue 1 in France.

The Dutch contract ends PSV’s 20-year-long partnership with the US sports apparel brand which has been the Dutch side’s technical sponsor since 1995.

The amount of the latest deal was not disclosed by the parties.

The change in the club’s kit supplier comes at a time of top performance by the club in the domestic league. After 23 matches played in this Eredivisie season, PSV is currently leading the league with 61 points, followed by last year’s champion Ajax Amsterdam, with 49 points. PSV last won the Dutch championship in 2008.

The side’s Philips Stadion has a capacity of 35,000.
