April 29 – Kit-maker Kappa have added Napoli to their stable of Italian Serie A clubs.
The company is to replace Macron from next season, after agreeing a five-year deal. It has been reported that the total value of the new arrangement is some €40 million. Kappa already supplies three other Serie A teams – Cagliari, Sampdoria and Torino.
Managed by former Liverpool boss Rafa Benítez, the club, whose colours are sky blue, currently lie fourth in Serie A and are favoured to reach a European final having drawn Ukraine’s Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk in the semi-finals of the Europa League.
The club’s most famous past player is without doubt Diego Maradona, who inspired them to two Italian league titles, two runners-up spots and the UEFA Cup between 1986 and 1990. They are current holders of the Coppa Italia.
