September 28 – France’s Professional Football League (LFP) has extended its partnership with production company HBS (Host Broadcast Services) for a further four years.

Since 2008, HBS have been the provider of host broadcast services to the LFP. The new deal will take the partnership forward with a third four-year-cycle until the end of the 2019/20 season. HBS will produce every Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 match, as well as all fixtures in the French League Cup.

HBS will deliver the broadcast feed to TV rights holders. The company will also advise the LFP on possible improvements in audiovisual infrastructure inside the French stadiums.

Since 2002 HBS has been the FIFA World Cup host broadcaster and responsible for the global feed that comes from FIFA’s World Cup tournaments. It expanded its business to fill the gaps between the main cycles of FIFA events.

“The competence and loyalty of HBS makes them a valuable partner for the LFP,” said the LFP director of business development Mathieu Ficot. “We welcome the renewal of our agreement.”

“The LFP has the reputation of being ‘the best produced league in the world’ and we are delighted to contribute to a new cycle that will see the implementation of new enhancements,” commented HBS chief executive Francis Tellier.

Paris-Saint Germain lead Ligue 1 with 20 points ahead of Asse and Rennes after eight match days. Dijon FCO top the table in Ligue 2 with 22 points ahead of Metz and Bourg-Peronnas after nine match days.
