Man Utd switches on to its 55m Indonesian fan base

November 30 – Manchester United has expanded its TV footprint into Indonesia with a multi-platform deal via SuperSoccer to distribute the channel for the first time in the country.

The Indonesian company will air the club’s MUTV channel as part of SuperSoccer TV’s offering on Dens.TV and Nexmedia.

SuperSoccer is a media company dedicated to football. The deal with Manchester United is described as being multi-year and targets one of the clubs strongest supporting countries. The club reckons it is supported by 55 million of the country’s 250 million population.

Mirwan Suwarso, Managing Director of SuperSoccer, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Manchester United to provide exclusive content and access to the Club, directly to our customers in Indonesia. With over fifty million followers in the country, this partnership with MUTV will provide exciting content from the one of the biggest sports organisations in the world.”

Man Utd’s Group Managing Director, Richard Arnold, also acknowledged the size of the club’s support in Indonesia and that now they will get to see the club up close and personal.”Indonesia is home to some of Manchester United’s most loyal and passionate fans and the Club is delighted to be partnering with SuperSoccer to provide our fans with access to MUTV,” said Arnold.

“Available on a number of channels and platforms, supporters will now have the ability to view behind-the-scenes footage from Old Trafford and the Aon Training Complex, interesting documentaries on the history of the Club and its supporters, as well as match day build up and coverage. It is an exciting time for fans in the country and we are pleased to be able to offer this service.”
