Spanish FA strikes deal with Footters to stream Segunda B and Tercera División

November 26 – The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has signed a three-year agreement with streaming platform Footters to broadcast matches from the Segunda B and Tercera División.

The RFEF has targeted the improvement of the administration and commercial opportunities of its lower league clubs since RFEF president Luis Rubiales was elected earlier this year.

“It is, in short, to make visible football that until now was not, and to do so with the endorsement of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, responsible for these competitions,” said Rubiales in a statement.

Footters will launch with €6.99 monthly subscription which will provide access to all matches in the Segunda B and Tercera División.

Matches will be screened live but can also be saved online. The subscription will allow the content to be viewed on three separate devices simultaneously with no geographical limits.

The service will also offer pay-per-view matches at €2.99 per game. It is unclear how high the broadcast production quality of matches will be though in most cases they are likely to be two-camera shoots with commentary provided by the club media departments or, in some cases, local radio partners.
