April 3 – More speakers have been announced for the Sports Law at the Crossroads conference in Madrid, May 10-11. Jose Luis Andrade, the European Club Association’s (ECA) General Council, Despina Mavromati (pictured), Attorney and Sports Arbitration specialist, Sportlegis, and Bichara Abidao Neto, founding partner at Bichara e Motta Advogados.
Luis Andrade will speak about the ECA’s perspectives on the transfer system reform package and will follow speakers from FIFA and FIFPro as the three stakeholders outline their positions.
Mavromati and Bichara will both speak on different aspects covering esports and the evolving legal issues surrounding its development.
Bichara will give a presentation on the evolution and development to date of esports law, using Brazil as an example.
Mavromati, who sits as arbitrator in international arbitrations administered by Sport Resolutions (UK) and is a member of the Doping Hearing Panel of the International Powerlifting Federation, will address the topic of e-sport and Doping, and whether the legal framework needs to be amended.
These three speakers will be joining Luis Rubiales, President of the Spanish federation (RFEF) who will be giving the conference opening address, FIFA’s chief legal officer Emilio Garcia Silvero, former CAS Deputy General Secretary William Sternheimer, and CAS arbitrator and partner at Baer & Karrer law firm Michele Bernasconi.
Early bird tickets for the conference are available priced €295 plus IVA. Full priced tickets from April 15 cost €350 plus IVA.
All delegates have places at the Gala Dinner to be held at Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on May 10. The conference will be held at the Madrid Bar Association in Madrid.
