FIFA unveils eNations Cup and eClub World Cup formats; July set for eWorld Cup finals

November 1 – FIFA’s esports division has unveiled its qualification process for the returning eNations Cup and eClub World Cup as well as the pathway to the eWorld Cup 2020.

The FIFA esports season will see an increase in the number of tournaments that will give more video gamers the opportunity to take part.

FIFA’s eClub World Cup is now in its fourth edition and features the world’s best teams in competitive FIFA playing 1v1 and 2v2 matchups that will start in February. New for the qualification phase will be a team-based 1v1 qualification process for clubs worldwide. Teams can register online now.

FIFA’s inter-nation eNations Cup competition will enter its second edition in 2020 with best thenational teams playing in 2v2 matchups from 22 to 24 May. National associations will compete for the finals via qualification phase.

At the top of FIFA’s esports tree remains its eWorld Cup which begins with competitors gaining ranking points through EA Sports FIFA 20 Global Series tournaments. There will be eight major tournaments that will provide competitors the opportunity to earn points ahead of the playoffs in order to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup finals in July 2020.

The top ranked 128 players (64 on PlayStation4 and 64 on Xbox) go into the Global Series Play-offs with the top ranked 32 then heading for the finals. The prize money pool for the Global Series tournaments is more than $3 million.
