February 16 – Former professional player, now a broadcast presenter, Alex Scott, has been announced as a speaker for the SIGA Summit on Female Leadership in Sport in New York, March 8-9.
She will be amongst a group of leading women’s sports professionals including Ann Cairns, executive vice chair Mastercard, who will give a keynote address; Caitlyn Morris, VP social media and impact at Nike; and Octagon executive vice president Christine Franklin.
SIGA Founding Member Mastercard, is hosting the Summit at their brand-new Technology Hub in Manhattan New York. The event will encompass 10 live webinars together with keynote speeches and one-to-one interviews with high profile industry leaders.
The summit’s objective is to address the most pressing challenges that impact women carving out a career, as well as providing a forum to learn and debate with women working and influencing at the top of sports industry.
SIGA has made greater gender equity and more diversity and inclusion a core pillar of its sports reform agenda.
Issues addressed will include the importance of parity in the boardroom and beyond, putting diversity and inclusion into action in sport; fair play on and off the pitch: athlete activism; sport sponsorship and integrity: commercialising the women’s game; and sport and technology: women at the cutting edge.
The two-day event is part of the #SIGAWomen Mentorship Programme but is also open to other attendees either in person (there are limited spaces) as well as online.
