AFC expands into Pacific Islands with Free TV Australian deal for 2022

March 10 – The AFC has added to their global broadcast footprint with a media rights deal with Free TV Australia for the Pacific Islands.

The agreement that initially only runs until the end of this year, nevertheless covers a number of the AFC’s major national team and club competitions in the year 2022, including the last rounds of Qatar 2022 qualification, the AFC U23 Asian Cup Uzbekistan 2022, the AFC Champions League and the AFC Cup.

The Pacific Ocean islands covered by the deal include Fiji, Solomon Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Samoa, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
PacificAus TV is a partnership between Free TV Australia and the Federal Government, and has sourced content from Australian commercial television networks and other content providers to supply Pacific partner broadcasters with premium Australian content across the Pacific, free of charge.
