June 23 – Concacaf have signed a multi-year collaboration agreement with music-based entertainment group Universal Music Latino (UML), a division of Universal Music Group (UMG).
UML will act as Concacaf’s official music consultant and partner for each of its tournaments, producing the official track and video. It will also provide playlists,and bring UML artists’ to perform at matches. The partnership covers all Concacaf men’s and women’s tournaments, including the Gold Cup and the Nations League.
The first collaboration is the official theme of Concacaf’s 2023 Gold Cup. The song, “NO ES SOLO UN JUEGO” (It’s Not Just a Game), will be performed by renowned artists such as Chiquis, Akon, Oriana, Lasso, and Adriel Favela.
Concacaf said that “this strategic agreement represents a significant milestone in the convergence of music and sports, opening a new chapter in their intersection…This commitment is based on the premise that music and sports have the unique power to unite people, evoke intense emotions, and create memorable moments that transcend cultural and linguistic barriers.”
Philippe Moggio, Concacaf General Secretary, said: “It is with great pleasure that we announce the collaboration between Universal Music and Concacaf, marking a very exciting moment for the 2023 Gold Cup.. This partnership reflects the influence of music in uniting regions, nations and cultures, much like the power of football.”
