July 10 – With the Gold Cup now at the semi-final stage, fan sentiment judging by Concacaf predictor game, is falling in favour of a third consecutive US vs Mexico final.
The US are firm favourites to beat Panama in San Diego, with 71% of fans playing the game predicting their win. A lower 66% are predicting that Mexico will beat Jamaica in Las Vegas.
Both games are played this Wednesday July 12.
Concacaf has been running the predictor game throughout the competition with fan engagement platform Tally Technology.
The game works through a very straightforward email and phone number sign up process. For each of the semi-finals users are asked to make predictions on the winning team, who will score first, when will the first goal be scored, who will have the first shot on goal and how many corners will there be.
In the lead up to the tournament Tally offered a trivia.
The aim of the game is to drive fan engagement and retention through predictions and trivia. Tally said its platform is designed to create new revenue streams through sponsorship activations, player conversion and data creation.
