August 31 – Liverpool have confirmed that they have a bid prepared for 21-year-old Bayern Munich Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (pictured) as the club battles to complete their midfield summer revamp ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline closing.
The €30 million move would see the Dutch international join compatriots Virgil Van Dijk, who captains the Dutch national team, and Cody Gakpo in the Liverpool first team. Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly a huge admirer of the young star, who impressed during his time at Ajax but struggled for game time at the German Champions after a move in summer 2022.
Bayern Munich are eyeing €70 million-rated Fulham star Joao Palhinha as Gravenberch’s replacement in the heart of midfield. The 27-year-old Portugal international had an impressive debut campaign in the Premier League last year, completing more tackles than any other player in the division, ahead of €130 million Chelsea signing Moises Caicedo.
FC Barcelona winger Ansu Fati has chosen to join Brighton, despite strong interest from Spurs in a one-year loan deal. Seagulls’ boss Roberto De Zerbi was reportedly a big player in the move materialising, and is a big admirer of the young Spanish talent. The 20-year old revealed his intention to leave the LaLiga champions last week.
The Spanish international inherited the famous number 10 shirt at the Nou Camp and was even deemed to be the next Messi in his early days at the club. The breakthrough of 16-year-old starlet Lamine Yamal has catalysed Fati’s decision to part ways with the Blaugrana.
Saudi side Al-Ittihad are still pursuing a £118 million move for Liverpool forward Mo Salah, despite the Merseyside club’s insistence that the Egyptian star is not for sale. Jurgen Klopp has said that he would be ‘furious’ if Salah is sold, with less than 48 hours until the transfer window closes.
The Egyptian has reportedly accepted Al-Ittihad’s mammoth contract offer than would see him become the highest paid player in the SPL, which is no mean feat. A move cannot be completed unless Liverpool accept the £118 million offer.
Spurs’ pursuit of Nottingham Forest star Brennan Johnson has stalled after failing to agree a fee with the midlands club. Spurs have instead turned their interest to 25-year-old Crystal Palace talent Eberechi Eze, who has a market value of €40 million according to Transfermarkt. The player has impressed since joining Palace from QPR in 2020 for a record fee, and is open to a move across London.
Manchester United look set to complete a move for 27-year-old Fiorentina and Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat after showing interest in the player since his performances in the 2022 World Cup. With the move for the Moroccan yet to be completed, United are still interested in Pierre Emile Hojbjerg of Spurs as another candidate to flesh out their midfield.
Inter Milan are eyeing out-of-favour Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele as the Frenchman has struggled for game time since his €62 million move from OL in 2019. The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Napoli, where he helped the side to their first scudetto in 33 years.
Atletico Madrid winger Yannick Carrasco is close to joining SPL side Al-Shabab on a three-year deal to become the latest big European name to make the voyage to Saudi Arabia.
