EA Sports releases competitive e-sports eco-system for EAFC24 video game

September 25 – Electronic Arts Sports, which is driving the launch of EAFC 24 following its split with FIFA’s brand naming of its video game, has announced its e-sports programme for the hit game, donned EA Sports FC Pro.

Set to be EA Sports’ biggest-ever programme of football E-sports, FC Pro aims to bring elite one-on-one gameplay to EA SPORTS FC players and fans through a new global competition circuit and League Partner programs.

The game developers have announced that registration has opened for players around the world to take part in these redesigned events.

The league is structured around two primary regular season competitions: FC Pro Open, which serves as an open circuit catering to competitive players, and FC Pro Leagues, an invite-only circuit for EA SPORTS FC pros representing iconic football clubs from a selection of League Partnerships, which include long-time collusions with the Premier League, Ligue Un, La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga alongside a multitude of leagues from every corner of the world.

The inaugural FC Pro season is set to kick off in October in the form of the FC Pro Open. The E-sports season will conclude with the FC Pro World Championship in June 2024, which will witness the crowning of the very first FC Pro World Champion among the top 32 EA SPORTS FC players, four of which will hail from FC Pro Open whilst 28 are gathered from FC Pro Leagues.

“FC Pro will redefine the way our millions of Ultimate Team players engage with EA SPORTS FC,” said Sam Turkbas, Senior Director & Commissioner, Football Esports, EA.

“FC Pro is built with our Ultimate Team fans and players in mind and enables them to forge stronger connections with their favorite athletes on the virtual pitch. In collaboration with our League Partners, our season-long FC Pro journey is the ultimate platform for our Ultimate Team enthusiasts to showcase their passion for FC.”

The structure of EA Sports football e-sports competitions are:

  • FC Pro Open: A $1 million prize money open circuit featuring both up-and-coming competitors and Ultimate Team pros on PlayStation 5. Kicking off in October across ten regions, players will battle through online, regional, and international competitions to earn a seat at the FC Pro World Championship.
  • FC Pro Leagues: An invite-only circuit for EA SPORTS FC pros representing iconic football clubs. Players will compete in tentpole tournaments hosted together with football League Partners for prizing and regional dominance on the road to the FC Pro World Championship.
  • FC Pro World Championship: The world’s 32 best EA SPORTS FC competitors will face off on the virtual pitch to be crowned the first FC Pro World Champion.

EAFC24 is scheduled to release on the September 27 and is available for pre-order for Xbox, Playstation, Nintendo Switch and PC. Early access for the game is open through EA’s paid extension, EA Play.
