EA deepens UEFA deal with Euro 2024 integration and launch of eEuro competition

November 27 – EA Sports has expanded its partnership with UEFA, including Euro 2024 in its hit EAFC 24 game,  and and announcing it will be the platform for UEFA’s new eEURO Esports competition.

The all-new tournament will feature Europe’s best EA SPORTS FC players representing UEFA national teams and will debut around Euro 2024, and continue as an annual competition.

The inaugural eEURO will feature qualification phases culminating in a live final, the first of which will be contested in summer 2024.

As part of the game’s Euro update, EA said that players will be able to simulate the upcoming tournament from their console. The tournament will be available to play in-game from June onwards ahead of the big kick-off on Friday June 14.

The in-game update will be free to EAFC 24 gamers.

The news comes as part of a long string of partnerships between UEFA and EA Sports, which began with the official UEFA Champions League licensing agreement ahead of the release of FIFA 19 in September 2018.

As part of the agreement, EAFC will be gifting all of those who play before January 16 an exclusive non-tradable, Euro 2024-themed player item from one of the top competing teams, which can be used in the game’s popular Ultimate Team game mode. The cards available will be from one of the following stars of the competition:

  • Jack Grealish (England)
  • Ousmane Dembélé (France)
  • Federico Chiesa (Italy)
  • Florian Wirtz (Germany)
  • Virgil Van Djik (Netherlands)
  • Álvaro Morata (Spain)

The player ratings for each card are yet to be revealed but are expected to be significantly better than base gold cards.

EA SPORTS FC 24 is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
