March 27 – Kitman Labs have added Luton Town to their growing football partnership portfolio.
The Luton agreement follows the Premier League deal with Kitman Labs to introduce the Football Intelligence Platform to all Academies late last year. The data specialists are now branching out to individual clubs with their performance data solutions.
Kitman Labs say that the centralisation of the data within a club and combination of these data sets will not only eliminate information silos but enable real time, cross-departmental collaboration and the ability for practitioners and stakeholders alike to support data-led, evidence-based decision-making.
Luton Town were lifted above the Premier League drop zone after relegation rivals Nottingham Forest received a six-point deduction for breaching the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules earlier this month. This puts them in a good stead to stay up – a feat which many thought impossible at the start of the season.
The club will be hoping for a similar upturn in form as seen at Fulham FC since they themselves partnered with Kitman Labs in the new year.
“To be competitive, our data needs to work as hard as our players do. That means the team needs to be working in one integrated system that provides an accurate, holistic view of each player. Training and treatment decisions can’t be made in a vacuum – we need a single source of truth for staff that provides them with the insights and intelligence necessary to inform tactical and strategic decision-making on and off the pitch,” said Jared Roberts-Smith, Head of Performance, Luton Town FC.
Luton Town return to Premier League action this weekend with a tough trip to Tottenham, before jumping across north London to face Arsenal at the Emirates in midweek.
