May 1 – BetMGM is to take over the ‘Official Training Wear Partner’ rights at Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur from next season.
The online betting operator has reportedly agreed a multi-year deal with the north London club which includes branding rights for BetMGM on the training wear for the men’s team, replacing Turkey-based food delivery company Getir, who are undergoing financial troubles.
Getir signed a three-year deal with the North London club in the 2021-22 season to become the club’s first men’s training kit partner. That deal is reportedly worth £8 million per season. Reports put the new deal with BetMGM at £10 million per season.
The news breaks after Getir announced it would be withdrawing from its US and European markets this week, including the UK and Germany, to refocus on its domestic market. Getir stated that only 7% of its revenues come from the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, and the US combined.
Just over 13 months ago, the Premier League agreed to voluntarily remove gambling logos from the front of match day shirts starting from the 2026-27 season. However, clubs will still have the green light to display gambling brands in other spots like LED advertising, sleeve rights, and training kit sponsorship.
The deal will see Spurs become the latest addition to BetMGM’s Premier League partnership roster, lining up alongside second-tier sponsorship deals with Newcastle United, Manchester City and Wolves.
