September 5 – Telecoms provider Earthlink has become an Official Regional Partner for the AFC’s 2026 World Cup qulaifiers which kick off on September 5, 2024 and run until November 2025.
The AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26 sponsorship encompasses key matches in Iraq, Jordan, Oman, Palestine and Kuwait. Earthlink is Iraq’s biggest internet provider and in particular will collaborate with the AFC for fan activations during home matches played in Iraq.
Datuk Seri Windsor John (pictured left), the AFC General Secretary, said: “The AFC is delighted to welcome Earthlink as an Official Regional Partner of the AFC Asian Qualifiers™ – Road to 26… The expanded and revamped format has undoubtedly paved the way for greater engagement in more territories than ever before and we thank Earthlink for sharing our belief in Asian football, and we look forward to strengthening our ties to create more lasting memories for the passionate fans across the MENA region.”

AFC World Cup qualifying has reached the final group stage with 18 teams competing in three groups of six. The top two teams in each group qualify directly for the 48-team 2026 World Cup. Iraq are one of the favourites to qualify and are grouped with South Korea, Palestine, Jordan, Oman and Kuwait.
