Pro-Palestine supporters occupy FFF offices protesting against Israeli game at Stade de France

November 5 – Pro-Palestinian supporters staged a protest Monday at the French FA calling for the cancellation of a Nations League game between France and Israel this month.

About 25 protestors entered the offices of the French Football Federation (FFF) to complain about the decision to stage the game at the Stade de France on November 14.

Video footage showed protesters inside the federation’s headquarters in Paris lying on the floor or holding placards with political slogans and Palestinian flags.

Some protesters also chanted: ‘No, no, no to the France-Israel game at the Stade de France’.

According to local media, the demonstrators were calmly evacuated by police.

French authorities confirmed last month that the match would go ahead after Italy hosted Israel in the same competition without incident despite security concerns.

Since the war in Gaza began last year, Israel has played all home games and some away games in Budapest’s Boszik Arena after UEFA said playing in Israel was too dangerous.

The match against Italy was the first Israel has played outside Hungary this year.

Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has close ties with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and has banned Palestinian solidarity protests.
