November 6 – Premier League side Southampton FC have partnered up with nutrition experts Hexis in an effort to enhance their players’ performance through ‘tailored nutrition and fuelling strategies’.
The deal, with a value and length that remain undisclosed, shows the club’s intent to ‘revolutionise athlete fuelling’ and keep them in the Premier League. With this partnership, Southampton coaching staff will have access to Hexis’ AI-driven nutrition platform.
The collaboration is set to begin immediately, with both teams working to implement the platform throughout Southampton’s training programmes as they prepare for a six-pointer versus 20th-placed Wolves on Saturday.
“We are thrilled to partner with Southampton FC, a club known for its commitment to athlete development and excellence,” said David Dunne, CEO at Hexis. “This collaboration aligns perfectly with our mission to transform how athletes approach fuelling. By integrating our AI-driven platform into their training regimen, we are excited to support the team in achieving their goals both on and off the pitch.”
Dan Martin, Consultant Performance Nutritionist at Southampton added: “We chose Hexis to help facilitate the individual support that is required at the top level of sport. Working with a squad of 30 players makes it difficult to ensure every player receives individually tailored nutrition information for every meal of every day that accurately reflects a dynamic and often individualised training schedule. Hexis has allowed us to scale our ability to do this.”
Southampton recorded a vital win over Everton in the Premier League on Saturday – their first of the season despite impressing in recent weeks – lifting the Saints into 19th. They will look to continue this run of form versus 20th-placed Wolves on Saturday in a must-win tie for Russell Martin’s side.
