Brave new Real Madrid World opens in Dubai

November 15 – Move over Disneyland because Real Madrid in conjunction with Dubai Parks and Resorts has just unveiled Real Madrid World (RMW).

In a world first for sports entertainment, this theme park is devoted exclusively to the fifteen-time winner of the UEFA Champions League. Dubai in the United Arab Emirates is the location for RMW, and sits on six hectares and features over 40 thrilling attractions, including record-breaking rides and immersive experiences that bring the club’s rich history to life.

At the official opening former legends of the club, Emilio Butragueño, the club’s Director of Institutional Relations, and Roberto Carlos, the famed Brazilian full back added to the pomp and pageantry. They were joined by 100 children from the Real Madrid Foundation, who enjoyed a special clinic on the park’s football pitch.

Butragueño was gushing in his praise for the park saying: “We are absolutely convinced that visitors to this theme park will immediately feel the excitement and enthusiasm that our badge and our shirt convey. Here, we bring to life a very important and beloved part of our history, stemming from the emotions and dreams of Real Madrid fans.”

CEO of Dubai Holding Entertainment, Fernando Eiroa, who is no stranger to the wonders of the Arab state said, “Real Madrid World is more than just a theme park – it is a celebration of football. This addition to Dubai’s entertainment panorama offers new experiences that are fully inclusive, educational, and fun for everyone.”

Much like Disneyland, RMW is packed with rides, attractions, and unique experiences including…

  • Stars Flyer: Towering at 140 meters, this is the world’s tallest flying chairs ride, offering a breathtaking view of the park and Dubai’s skyline.
  • Hala Madrid Coaster: The first and only wooden roller coaster in the Middle East, delivering a thrilling ride inspired by Real Madrid’s iconic chant.
  • The Real Challenge: An interactive game where fans can test their skills and compete in challenges inspired by Real Madrid’s training regimen.
  • Road to Victory: A multimedia journey that lets visitors relive some of the club’s greatest moments, from Champions League triumphs to historical league victories.
  • Bernabéu Experience: A stunning exhibition showcasing the club’s 15 European Cups in football and 11 in basketball, providing fans with a taste of Real Madrid’s legacy.
  • Meet the Stars: An attraction featuring life-size figures of Real Madrid’s legendary players, allowing fans to snap photos with virtual versions of their heroes.

This venture is sure to raise the promotional and business bar amongst the world’s biggest clubs, and with the Middle East providing encouragement, and funding, RMW, will surely be the first of many football-themed attractions as the region potentially gears up for a return of the World Cup in 2034.
