Kane beats Haaland’s fastest-to-50 goal record in Bundesliga

November 25 – Harry Kane has set a new Bundesliga milestone, becoming the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the league’s history after scoring a hat trick against Augsburg.

The 31-year-old striker achieved the feat in just 43 games, surpassing Erling Haaland’s record of 50 goals in 50 matches during his Borussia Dortmund days.

Kane’s three goals on Friday – including two penalties – gave Bayern a 3-0 win stretching their lead to eight points

Kane scored 36 goals in 32 league appearances last season, his first for Bayern after joining from Tottenham Hotspur. Ironically it was the first season since 2012 that Bayern failed to win the title, as Bayer Leverkusen went undefeated.

As well as 14 league goals so far this season, Kane has scored five in the Champions League and one in the German cup.

Bayern Munich’s head coach Vincent Kompany lauded Kane’s clinical instincts. “That’s what makes him so dangerous. You can keep him quiet for most of the game, but all he needs is a moment, and he delivers.”
