December 5 – Masar Omeragic (pictured), a former player and member of the FFM Board of Directors, is the sole candidate for the Football Federation of Macedonia’s presidential elections, to be held on December 22.
“The Commission for Elections and Verification within the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM) accepted the proposal of the Municipal Football Association – Sveti Nikole to support the candidacy of Masar Omeragic for president of the Football Federation of Macedonia at the Extraordinary Electoral Assembly of the FFM on December 22, 2024,” said the FFM in a short statement.
The current president of the North Macedonian FA, Muamed Sejdini, decided to step down from his position on November 17, two months after he was attacked by masked men in the centre of Skopje.
Sejdini has been the president of the FFM for the past seven years, during which North Macedonia have achieved their greatest football successes, playing for the first time in Euro 2020 and securing second place in the qualification group for the World Cup.
Omeragic also received the endorsement of former Macedonian national team player Goran Pandev who posted on his Instagram account: ‘Past, Present, Future!’
