December 10 – Turkey’s Galatasaray have signed a one-season shirt sponsorship agreement with Alpcans, a real estate business operating in Northern Cyprus, officially known as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Galatasaray will receive TL 70 million (€2 million) and a share of the income from the Alpcan Towers Key West Project built by Alpcans in the TRNC.
The contract between Galatasaray and Alpcans runs until the end of the 2024/2025 season.
“We do not see our sponsorship relations as limited to contracts and numbers. We establish our collaborations on a sense of togetherness and sincerity-based companionship. We set out with the hope that our collaboration with sponsors will not be limited to a single period but a process that will extend into the future. We wish for a long-term collaboration between our club and Alpcans Construction, which will contribute to our football A team this season,” said Niyazi Yelkencioğlu, vice president of Galatasaray.
“It is a fact that Galatasaray is the center of football attraction in Turkey. You can clearly see the reflections of this chain of success in our record sponsorship revenues this season. Galatasaray means success. I would like to thank Mr. Yüksel, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who chose to be with us on this journey of success, and the entire Alpcans Construction family, and those who contributed to our agreement. I present my love and respect to all of you”, he added.
İbrahim Hatipoğlu, board member of Galatasaray, said that the agreement with Yüksel Alpcan had come together in a short space of time,
“Cyprus is a hidden paradise in the Mediterranean where all of us have high national feelings. In recent years, Northern Cyprus has developed very seriously, even if it is not at the point it deserves. As Galatasaray, it is a place where we have had serious friendships since forever and where we have many fans. We are happy to bring the Galatasaray brand together with Alpcans. This is not just a sponsorship agreement, there is a collaboration protocol behind it. A protocol that will continue in terms of income. The Key West Project is an important point of this collaboration. Galatasaray will earn serious income from this project. In addition, we will carry the Alpcans brand on our jerseys.”
Hatipoğlu, said that the club is also preparing to expand into the Far East, said: “We plan to develop our communication and increase our cooperation with the region where a large population of the world lives. In the past, the ambassadors of both the People’s Republic of China and South Korea visited our president. The Galatasaray brand attracts attention all over the world. We look favorably on those who want to cooperate. All the big clubs of the world show great interest in this geography. Galatasaray will not be left out of this.”
