AC Milan turn to Tiffany for Hall of Fame trophy

December 12 – Italian giants, AC Milan, would like to see themselves as the ‘Tiffany’ club in Italian and world football, and they may well have succeeded in a new partnership with luxury jeweller Tiffany & Co.

The two organizations have unveiled a collaboration to design the official trophy for the AC Milan Hall of Fame presented by Emirates. With 125 years of history, AC Milan are celebrating Tiffany & Co’s first-ever trophy for Italian football.

Not so much a trophy in the traditional sense, and more of a tray. A 12-inch sterling silver (platter) tray, represents a blend of football’s grandeur and the precision of fine artistry, according to Tiffany & Co.’s hollowware workshop in Rhode Island.

The piece features the AC Milan Hall of Fame and Emirates logos, alongside the name of each inducted legend.

The AC Milan Hall of Fame was launched earlier this year, and follows in the idea created by the big three sports in the United States, namely American Football, Basketball, and Baseball, where induction into the Hall of Fame of their respective sports is considered the pinnacle for athletes.

The inaugural inductee, Honorary Vice President Franco Baresi, is the ‘true’ one-club man. He represented the Rossoneri, 532 times, won six Serie A titles, as well as three UEFA Champions League titles.

As part of the celebration fans worldwide will have the privilege of watching the induction of the first three legends, with the announcement culminating in a ceremony at San Siro on December 15. This event is part of the Club’s 125th-anniversary celebrations.
