December 13 – UEFA has announced Lidl as an Official Partner for UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, the largest women’s Euro in history, set to take place in Switzerland across eight host cities in July 2025.
The two entities have frequently partnered up for similar events, with the German retailer involved in last summer’s European Championships on top of this season’s UEFA club competitions, including the Europa League and Conference League.
Lidl’s involvement highlights the growing trend of corporate partnerships in contributing to social change by increasing visibility and investment in women’s sport, with the partnership aiming to underscore the importance of fostering equality in sport.
Fans can expect exclusive promotions, rewards, and events tied to the tournament as Lidl aims to enhance the celebration of women’s football next summer.
The 2025 tournament is expected to break new records for viewership, attendance, and global engagement.
Guy-Laurent Epstein, UEFA marketing director, said: “As one of Europe’s leading food retailers, Lidl is an ideal partner to help us bring the energy and excitement of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 to an even broader audience. We are delighted to build on our successful partnership with Lidl from UEFA EURO 2024 into UEFA Women’s EURO 2025 so we can continue to harness the power of football to inspire healthy lifestyles and the next generation of women’s football.”
Jens Thiemer, chief customer officer at Lidl International, said: “We’re thrilled to take our love for women’s sport to the next level as the Official Partner of UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. This partnership is a natural step forward, building on our proud history of teaming up with major sports organisations for both women’s and men’s sport and following the success of the UEFA EURO 2024.
“Together, we’re championing the power of sport to bring people together and inspire communities across Europe. As a company, we are closely connected to Europe and excited that 14 of the over 30 countries in which Lidl is present will participate in this tournament.”
