AFC draws groups for U17 Asian Cup Saudi Arabia in April

January 24 – Hosts Saudi Arabia, chasing a third title, will face Uzbekistan, Thailand and China in Group A of the AFC U17 Asian Cup to be played April 3-12.

The 16 qualified nations were divided into four groups at the draw held in the AFC’s Kuala Lumpur headquarters yesterday.

Group B will see defending champions Japan face Australia, Vietnam and United Arab Emirates while South Korea will meet Yemen, Afghanistan and Indonesia in Group C.

Top seeds Iran have been drawn against Tajikistan, Oman and North Korea in Group D.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the knockout rounds, as well as slots at the expanded 48-team U-17 World Cup to be played in Qatar later this year.
