February 3 – AC Milan have strengthened their ties with online trading platform Bitpanda, announcing an expanded partnership that will see the company’s logo feature on the back of the Rossoneri’s shirts with immediate effect.
Bitpanda made its on-kit debut in this weekend’s Milan derby – a fiery encounter that ended in a 1-1 draw after Inter’s Stefan de Vrij snatched a late equaliser, much to the frustration of the red half of the city.
Milan still left a dent in Inter’s title pursuit, though, as the Nerazurri remain second in the Serie A table, three points off leaders Napoli, who have played a game more.
The collaboration between AC Milan and Bitpanda first kicked off in the summer of 2024 when the company joined as a Premium Partner and the club’s Official Crypto Trading Partner. Now, as Bitpanda looks to further cement its presence in both the Italian and international markets, its visibility on Milan’s iconic jersey marks a significant next step.
For Milan, the deal reflects the club’s ongoing strategy of aligning with high-growth brands in the digital finance sector and the Rossoneri’s aim to embrace commercial partnerships that ‘bridge tradition with modern innovation’.
The exact length and value of the sponsorship expansion has not been undisclosed.
Maikel Oettle, chief commercial officer of AC Milan, said: “We are thrilled to further strengthen our partnership with Bitpanda and welcome them onto our iconic red and black jersey as our new Back-of-Shirt sponsor. The expansion of our partnership reflects our shared values of innovation and excellence, as well as our mutual ambition to create meaningful experiences for our global fanbase, which spans over 500 million fans worldwide.”
Eric Demuth, co-founder and CEO of Bitpanda, added: “The first six months of our partnership with AC Milan have been marked by great collaboration and mutual commitment. It quickly became clear that we wanted to take it even further – and now, the timing couldn’t be better.”
