March 7 – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has renewed its partnership with Decathlon Ghana, reaffirming a collaboration that has been a steady pillar of support for football development in the country over the past four years.
The signing ceremony, held on March 5 at the Decathlon Superstore in Accra Mall, brought together key figures from both organisations, all apparently eager to stress their shared ambition for the future of Ghanaian football. The original deal, which first took shape in 2021, has seen Decathlon provide vital equipment, apparel, and logistical backing, helping to strengthen the sport from the grassroots up.
Geoffrey Fadloul, CEO of Decathlon Ghana, took the opportunity to express his satisfaction with the renewed agreement, highlighting the company’s continued commitment to making football more accessible and helping Ghanaian talent thrive.
Leading the GFA delegation at the event was President Kurt E.S. Okraku, who was joined by Director of Marketing Jamil Maraby, Head of Public Relations and Strategy Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Black Stars Assistant Coach John Paintsil.
Okraku was full of praise for Decathlon’s backing over the years, particularly its efforts to support women’s football, a growing force in the country’s sporting ecosystem. He also assured Decathlon that the GFA remains committed to ensuring their collaboration remains one of integrity and lasting impact.
The new deal outlined plans to ramp up efforts in grassroots development, expand opportunities in the women’s game, and create stronger connections between the sport and local communities. Fan engagement will become a key focus for the partnership, with talk of football clinics, promotional events, and interactive campaigns to bring supporters even closer to the game.
No term or value was given for the deal.
