Germany launches Women’s EURO 2029 bid under ‘Together WE Rise’ banner

March 8 –The German Football Association (DFB) have chosen International Women’s Day (Saturday March 8) to officially launch their campaign to host the UEFA Women’s EURO 2029 under the campaign banner ‘Together WE Rise’.

The bid will be promoted via a series of activities and branding opportunities across Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesligamatches as the DFB begins its engagement in Germany which is still basking in the glory of having delivered the 2024 men’s Euros.

The 2029 bid is built around an emphasis and commitment “to fostering growth and unity across European women’s football, creating lasting benefits for all UEFA National Associations”.

The bid logo, WE’29, is designed to reflect European collaboration for the Women’s EURO tournament with a focus on “unity, dynamism, and the interconnectedness of European football,” sad the DFB.

The ‘Together WE Rise’ slogan is at the core of the philosophy of Germany’s bid – solidarity , with the point being that  the success of European women’s football and the creation of a sustainable ecosystem depends on every nation to collaborate and seize new opportunities.

The DFB said their bid will generate record revenues and “fresh impetus to participation among girls and player pathways”. In promising a championship that will break all previous metrics the DFB said it will set new benchmarks for visibility, inclusion and empowerment, much as the men’s Euro 2024 has done.

Heike Ullrich, General Secretary of the DFB, said: “The logo, design and vision fit very well with the DFB’s DNA. We want to use our experience in organising major tournaments and our passion for women’s football in Germany to provide an outstanding stage for the tournament. The slogan ‘Together WE Rise’ will be brought to life during the tournament in Germany and for women’s football throughout Europe.”

Germany were a member of the three-nation bid for the Women’s World Cup 2027 with Belgium and the Netherlands. A bid that was controversially won by Brazil.

Their bid for Euro 2029 faces competition from bids from Italy, Poland and Portugal as well as the joint bid of Denmark and Sweden.

Preliminary bid dossiers are scheduled to be submitted to UEFA next Tuesday March 12.
