AFC’s Women’s Football Conference returns after 5-year gap

November 12 – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) marked the return of its Women’s Football Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after a five-year hiatus. First held in 2019, the conference reopened with the AFC Special Grassroots Awards and AFC Special Elite Youth Football Awards, celebrating the dedication of AFC Member Associations (MAs) in building future generations of Asian football talent.

Japan dominate AFC Grassroots Awards

November 12 – Taking place on the sidelines of the 3rd AFC Women’s Football Conference, the 2024 edition of the awards saw Japan’s Nozomi Hiroyama and Miyo Okamoto recognised as the Youth Coach of the Year (Male) and (Female) respectively while the Prince Takamado U-15 Regional League won the Youth League of the Year title.
